Shoichiro Niwa is a Lead Architect of Technical Consulting Organization in Hewlett-Packard Japan Ltd. He is leading a team to develop Management Solutions for Network Service Provider. Also he is conducting many consulting activities to Business and R&D managers in NSP. He has more than 10 years experience in Test and Measurement. His work started from developing measurement systems for Audio and Video. Following custom systems for Analog and Digital transmission, Wireless and Fiber communication. After joining Telecom Management, he supported TMN related solutions. Now he is working for IP related service infrastructure and management solutions. He received a B.S. degree in instrumentation engineering from Keio University. He is a member of IEEE and IEICE.

Nobuo Fujii (Executive Manager, NTT Network Innovation Laboratories, NTT)
¡°Broadband Network, Integrated Management and Standardizations¡±
Mr. Nobuo Fujii has been working in the network operations system area after joining NTT labs in 1979. His carrier started from the development of digital cross-connect remote control system (STECS) that was widely deployed in NTT in the middle of 1980s. Following the OSI systems management, he conducted the study of TNMS Engine that is a GDMO based OSS software development tool kit and lead the development of ATM transport network OSS for ATM trials in NTT. After multimedia business operation in NTT business sector, he is now managing R&D work in Network Service Innovation Laboratory. He is a vice-chair of ITU-T SG4 and a member of IEICE and IEEE.

Teerapat Sanguankotchakorn (Assistant Professor & Coordinator, Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand)

Dr. Teerapat Sanguankotchakorn received B.Eng in Electrical Engineering from Chulalongkorn Univ., Thailand in 1987, M.Eng and D.Eng in Information Processing from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan in 1990 and 1993, respectively under Japanese Government Scholarship. In 1993, he joined Telecommunication and Information Systems Research Laboratory at Sony Corporation, Japan, where he holds two patents on Signal Compression. From 1995 to 1998, he had been with ABCN Co. Ltd, Thailand. Since 1998, he has been an Assistant Professor at Asian Institute of Technology. His research interests include Digital Signal Processing, Flow and Congestion Control in ATM network, High Speed Network, IP-based multimedia applications and QoS in IP Network.

Alexander Kostin is Vice-Director of R&D Department and Chief of Management Center of Telecommunications Networks and Services (MCTNS) at Saint-Petersburg State University of Telecommunications of Ministry of Telecommunications of the Russian Federation. He received the engineering degree in 1971 and Ph.D degree in technical sciences in 1983 from Leningrad Bonch-Bruevich Electrotechnical Institute of Telecommunications. His current interest includes Telecommunications Network and Service Management planning of different types of network elements/network for the Whole Telecommunications Network of Russia and development of Integrated Management Systems for the Russian regions Telecom Operators. He is the author more than 90 papers on theoretical and practical aspects of Operations and Telecommunications Networks Management. MCTNS consists the TMN Certification Laboratory, Laboratory of Quality Systems audit and R&D Laboratory in which Dr. Kostin is the Chief. TMN Certification Laboratory cooperates with world leading Telecommunications Companies with the purpose of realization of the certification tests for all types of Management Systems, which are to be implemented in Russian Telecommunications Networks.

Martin Creaner (Cheif Technology Officer, TeleManagement Forum)

Martin Creaner has been working and advising in the Communications Industry for over 16 years and is presently Vice President and CTO of the TMF. Prior to joining the TMF, Martin held a number of executive positions with BT, the major UK based European Communications Service Provider, and with Motorola, the global Wireless Networks Equipment manufacturer, where Martin led the 2.5G and 3G OSS solutions development activities. Martin is also the Managing Director of SEB Consulting Limited, a Management and Technical Consultancy specializing in advising clients in the Telecommunication Sector. In recent years Martin has been instrumental in forming several global strategic alliances between a number of the leading players in the mobile communications sector.

Dr. Ilsoo Ahn is a Vice President responsible for Network Management System Lab. of Network Division in Samsung Electronics Co., Korea. The lab is developing various network management solutions for telecommunications equipment such as NGN, ADSL, FLC, SDH, ATM, IP, Cable Network, CDMA and UMTS cellular systems. Before joining Samsung Electronics Co., he worked for AT&T Bell Labs in U.S.A., developing network management and operations support systems. He received a B.S. and M.S. degree in electronic engineering from Seoul National University and Korea Advanced Institute of Science, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in computer science from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Hiroyuki Okazaki (Assistant General Manager, Network Labs, NEC Europe Ltd.)
"Challenges in Inter-Operator Network and Service Management"
Hiroyuki Okazaki received his BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo in 1977 and 1979, respectively. He joined NEC Central Research Laboratories in 1979. He carried out research and development activities in the area of network design and control, and related computer aided tools. In 1994 he moved to NEC Networks' Development Laboratories and managed development of broadband access systems and their network/service management systems. Since 2001, he has been Assistant General Manager in the Network Laboratories, NEC Europe Ltd. in Germany. He is a member of IEEE and IEICE in Japan.

Dongsik Yun (Director, KT OSS Lab, Korea)

Dong Sik Yun received his BS in electrical and electronic engineering from Hankook Aviation College and his MS in electrical and electronic engineering from Korea Advanced Institute Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea in 1986 and 1988, respectively. In 1983 he joined KT, where he worked on an N-ISDN and B-ISDN field trial project. From 1993 to 1994, he researched TINA-C service management architecture as a Visiting Researcher of core-team member at NJ, USA. From 1998 to 2001, he was a director of development for KT broadband multi-service (ATM, FR, and IP) and the network control and management system. Now, he is a Director and Coordinator of the project for design and development of KT's integrated service/network management system. His research interests include ATM, ADSL and IP services and network management architecture in a distributed processing environment, fault-tolerant management for distributed components in the inter-domain and heterogeneous networks, wireless internet access technology, and policy-based network management.

Hideyuki Shinonaga received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical communications engineering from Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, in 1979,1981, and 1995, respectively. Since 1981, he has been with the Research and Development Laboratories of Kokusai Denshin Denwa (KDD, now KDDI) Co., Ltd., where he has been engaged in the research on digital satellite communications, terrestrial radio systems, radio LAN's, and mobile radio communications. Si-Hong Lee worked on operating telecommunication devices and devising a technical strategy plan. Recently, he has managed Quality of Wireless Internet Service for the last two years and he is working on developing a master plan of SK Telecom's Wireless Internet E2E QoS.
