CTCSP Corporation
Carrier-Grade Service Control and QoS/SLA Enforcement (NetEnforcer AC-1000 Series)
Carriers, service providers (xSPs) and data centers are faced with large infrastructure costs and decreasing margins. Profitability hinges on the ability to control spiraling network costs and to increase
revenue through new lucrative services. These services may include throttling peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic, and providing tiered (differentiated) services for home and SOHO users and classes of service for business users. Large enterprises with Gigabit backbones seek to ensure acceptable performance for business- and time-critical applications such as CRM, ERP and VoIP.,

iReMS (Integrated Repeater Management System)
To provide higher quality of services in wireless environment, Network Operator adopts various BTSs and Repeaters (Fiber, M/W, RF and so on) in their networks. iReMS takes the responsibility for managing numerous and heterogeneous repeaters. It consists of main functionalities such as monitoring for repeaters status, collecting and analyzing RF data from the repeaters by using various wireless monitoring devices (wireless modems/cellular phone/specialized PDA) and supporting the maintenance operations. As collecting the RF data from wireless monitoring devices, iReMS analyzes the trend and the status of the repeaters. When iReMS recognizes the abnormal status of the repeaters, it issues a trouble ticket to the maintenance operators by sending the short messages to their cellular phones or PDAs.

ETRI
Wise*<TrafView>
Wise* <TrafView> is a high performance, adaptable, configurable, and scalable application-aware passive traffic
measurement and analysis system which can achieve very accurate usage-based accounting.
Currently, most ISPs use a flat rate charging policy. Besides the degree of difficulty in deriving appropriate
charging policies agreeable by concerned parties, there are substantial technical challenges to come up with a
good usage-based accounting system. Usage-based accounting depending on IP packet header information only is
no longer sufficient due to highly dynamic nature of the development and the use of the Internet applications
such as peer-to-peer, streaming and network games whose traffic takes substantial amount. They are using port
numbers dynamically and even several applications can use the same port number. Packet fragmentation and
asymmetric routing contribute to this difficulty as well.

Hewlett-Packard Japan, Ltd.
OpenView Products (SQM, TeMIP) for Communications & HP OSS Solution for L2/L3 Services
New technologies, new competition, new business models and new services force service providers to find new ways to retain and gain market share while remaining profitable. In the center of this change HP’s Integrated Services Management (ISM) solutions are increasingly seen as a way for service providers to differentiate themselves by providing faster time to revenue, improved quality of service (QoS) and attractive service level agreement. Combining the flexible architecture of HP ISM with scalable , OpenView SQM and TeMIP family products provides a powerful modular solution.
In recent years, IP-VPN and Wide Ethernet Services became an essential services for enterprise companies. HP has been providing a total OSS solution for service carriers and enterprise companies. We plan to exhibit L2/L3 OSS solution and related OpenView products at our booth.

ILOG Co., Ltd.
Advanced Development Tools to build Flexible and Intelligent OSS/BSS applications
In the Telecommunications industry, ILOG's software components, covering Visualization, Business Rules and Optimization,
have been widely adopted to develop advanced features for OSS/BSS solutions. ILOG-based solutions include network
management, service level management, and policy-based management applications, as well as billing, CRM, service
provisioning and order management solutions.
At APNOMS 2003, we will present the following solutions:
- Network/SLA Monitoring: ILOG JViews and ILOG JTGO allow to efficiently develop graphical interfaces to monitor in
real-time network events and service levels. Based on recommendations of TMF, these tools reduce the learning curve of
the operators, and increase their productivity.
- AFC, SLM and Policy-Based Management: ILOG JRules allows to analyze in real-time the root cause of network alarms,
as well as manage the service levels and the policies of the service providers. This results in higher satisfaction
level for the end-users, and lower functioning costs for the service provider.
- Order Management: ILOG JRules can also automate the processing of orders, streamlining and speeding up the process,
as well as reducing dramatically the number of faulty orders. End-users orders are thus delivered more speedily,
while the service operator avoids losing money on badly configured orders.

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation
Implementation of CORBA Management Interface for B-PON System
The first prototype of management scenarios according to ITU-T Q.834.4 has been realized by NTT and Mitsubishi. This prototyping presents conformance of ITU-T Q.834.4, as enhanced management system for B-PON system based on CORBA, by actual products. Therefore, it provides guideline for interoperability between EMS (Element Management System) and NMS (Network Management System). This prototype of EMS implementation is based on Mitsubishi's B-PON EMS, which has fully JAVA based modular software architecture enabling easy functional modifications. JAVA technology was advantageous when modifying existing software to incorporate CORBA interface function into original B-PON EMS. The prototype proves that ITU-T Q.834.4 is feasible and useful for enhancing access network system management functions.

NTT Advanced Technology Corporation
CorNavi which enhances the quality of CORBA server implementation
CorNavi is the eagerly-awaited tool which helps the CORBA server
developers. It can easily invoke a single or series of CORBA
operations on the server only with the IDL file that the server
implements. We applied CorNavi to the prototype test of ITU-T
Q.834.4 with Mitsubishi and proved this tool is very useful and
powerful.
Major functions.
- Coding free.
- Retrieving object reference from INS or file.
- Invoking CORBA operation.
- Getting/Setting attributes.
- Providing a parameter table which enables you to input the values intuitively. (Copy&Paste, Drag&Drop function etc.)
- Inherent object naming system.
- Saving/Loading objects list, parameters and naming rules etc.
- Scenario operation function. This tool facilitates the development
of CORBA server, and reduces the cost and time for the testing.
