The 8th Asia-Pacific Network Operations and Management Symposium (APNOMS 2005) will be held in Okinawa, Japan from September 27 to 30, 2005. The theme of APNOMS 2005 is ¡°Toward Managed Ubiquitous Information Society¡±. Broadband networks and wide varieties of appliances progress in the ubiquitous networking technologies. Solutions for network/service operations and management play key roles for establishing our ubiquitous society. APNOMS 2005 will provide excellent opportunities for researchers, engineers, network planners, service providers and network operators in telecommunications to learn and share ideas, views, technologies and experiences on network/service operations and management.

Okinawa is one of the southern most islands in Japan located in the subtropical zone where huge number of visitors enjoy beach resorts, marine sports including scuba diving in one of world¡¯s most beautiful coral underwater, and visit one of the biggest aquariums in the world. Okinawa has UNESCO World Heritage castle group by displaying unique ancient cultures of Ryukyuu Kingdom. Also, many traces of the tragic 2nd World War are preserved.
