SOA Strategies on the Fixed/Mobile Convergence
Dennis Nam (Microsoft, Korea)
Dennis Nam is an architect and a principal consultant of Microsoft. He has been focusing on the telecommunication industry for the last few years at Microsoft. During 2003–2004, he worked as a project manager for KT to develop KT’s new OSS based on eTOM and NGOSS. He spent last couple of years to evangelize the benefits of a new integrated OSS of KT to other service providers in Asia. He is currently responsible to work with service providers of Korea to transform their businesses more agile. Dennis received his BA from University of Phoenix on Business Information Systems.

Introduction to PON NE Management Functions and Operation Interfaces
Wataru Tsurumaki (NTT, Japan)
Wataru Tsurumaki is a Senior Research Engineer of NTT Access Service Systems Laboratories, and he has worked to develop various NE Management Systems since he joined NTT in 1992. He received his B.S. degree in science from University of Tokyo and M.S. degree in Hokkaido University in 1990 and 1992 respectively, Until 1999 he was responsible for the development of CMIP based mediation server and clients software for the management of optical NE (OLT). In 2000 he joined the development team of the "Plant Allocation System" and was responsible for the development of PON NE (OLT and ONU) management module. Now he is in charge of developing GE-PON NE-OpS.

Shuang-Mei Wang (Chung Hwa Telecom TL, Taiwan)
Shang-Wang is a Deputy Project Manager of Broadband Service Operation Support Technology Project in CHTTL (Chunghwa Telecommunication Laboratories), Taiwan. She received BS from Tamkang University, Taiwan in June 1984, and MS from University of Illinois, USA in Feb. 1988. Since she joined CHT in 1989, she has been involved in developing network resource provisioning and management system in Optical fiber network and the Broadband Service provisioning and testing project of CHT. Her latest job is managing the project of Broadband Service configuration and activation of CHT.

A Broadband Network Management Practice: KT Internet
Jinhyoun Youn (KT, Korea)
Jinhyoun Youn has been working for KT Network Strategic BU, especially in the data analysis department. Deployment of network management and analysis systems for the IP service field was his main job for the last three years. The service infrastructure modeling for future broadband services including AAA (authentication, authorization, and accounting) is one of the current interests. He received his BS and MS Degrees from the Dept of Computer Science and Engineering, POSTECH (Pohang, Korea) in 1991 and 1993, respectively.

Next Generation Network and QoS
Koichi Asatani (Kogakuin University, Japan)
Koichi Asatani received his B.E.E.E, M.E.E.E. and Ph.D degrees from Kyoto University in 1969, 1971 and 1974, respectively. From 1974 to 1997, Dr. Asatani was engaged in R&D on high-definition video transmission systems, FTTH, ISDN, B-ISDN, ATM networks and QoS in NTT. Currently he is a professor of Dept of Electronic Engineering, Kogakuin University, and a visiting professor in Waseda University in Japan. He is a co-author of 15 books. He is Ex-Chair and Advisory Board Chair Emeritus of IEEE CQR-TC, Ex-Chairman and Advisor of IEICE CQ-TC, Feature Editor on Standards (1993-1999) and Senior Technical Editor (1999-) of IEEE Communications Magazine. He served as Vice-Chairman of ITU-T SG 13 since 1988 to 2000, and Chairman of Next Generation Network Committee of MIC. He also served as Symposium Co-Chair for QoS, Reliability and Performance Modelling Symposium at several ICCs and GLOBECOMs. He is a Fellow and Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE and Fellow of IEICE.

BcN: A Future Networking Vision from Korea
Jongtae Song (ETRI, Korea)
Dr. Jongtae Song is a senior member of BcN architecture team in ETRI. He got his BS and PhD in Electrical Engineering from KAIST and Brooklyn Poly in 1990 and 1998, respectively. He joined in Lucent Bell Labs where he worked on several projects developing ATM switch, IP router, and CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System). His major responsibility was ATM admission control algorithm, IP router data path control, and QoS issues in DOCSIS 1.1. From 2001 to 2004, he worked in two start-up companies in New Jersey, U.S. – Coree Networks and Parama Networks. He worked on developing network system - carrier class MPLS switch and the next generation SONET system. Since he joined Broadband Convergence Network (BcN) research division in ETRI in 2004, he is working on defining a network level architecture for next generation network in Korea.

Management of WiMAX
Kohei Iseda (Fujitsu Laboratories, Japan)
Kohei Iseda received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in telecommunication engineering from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 1983 and 1985 respectively. He joined Fujitsu Laboratories in Kawasaki, Japan, in 1985. After working on research and development of speech and audio codec, network management systems including security management, he has been engaged in the research of WiMAX system. His research interests include WiMAX system enhancement, a security protocol management, distributed and policy based management, etc.

Introduction of WiBro (Mobile WiMax) Network Management
Sangkun Chun (Samsung Electronics, Korea)
Sangkun Chun is a senior researcher of Network Management System Laboratories of Samsung Electronics, in Suwon, Korea. He received MS from SungKyunKawn University and has been with Samsung Electronics since 2001. He has been involved in designing and developing various network management systems for xDSL, FTTH and CDMA2000. He also developed Remote Management Solution for CPEs and BCMCS Service Management System. Recently, his main role is designing WSM (WiBro System Management) that is a Mobile WiMax Network Management System of Samsung.
